Call for papers for Fourth conference of European Network for the sociological and demographic Study of Divorce, 23-25 June 2006, in Florence, Italy. The topic of the conference will be Family Dynamics and Family structures in a comparative perspective.
Keynote speaker Sara McLanahan (Princeton University).
Proposals for papers to be presented at this conference should be send to the organizer, Jaap Dronkers (jaap.dronkers@iue.it) , before February 1, 2006. Papers with a comparative perspective (cross-national, cross-generational) or with an emphasis on family dynamics are specially welcome. A completed version of the paper should be available early June 2006, two weeks before the conference to promote the discussion.
The Grants Resources Center has received a contract from the US Office of Research Integrity (ORI) to organize 2 one-day conferences on research integrity targeting non-medical institutions and faculty in the social and behavioral sciences. The first conference will be held at the University of Texas San Antonio on October 7, 2005 and the second will be held at the University of Illinois, Chicago on February 17, 2006. The NIH has issued notices pertaining to grant applications delayed by Hurricane Katrina (NOT-OD-05-072) and NIH grantees whose research has been affected by Hurricane Katrina (NOT-OD-05-073 and NOT-OD-05-074). Delayed receipt dates may also be available for principal investigators involved in relief and recovery efforts (NOT-OD-05-076).

The 2005 Annual Social and Economic Supplement (formerly known as the March Supplement or the Annual Demographic File) of the Current Population Survey is now available on PopNet UNIX. This release includes an ASCII data file, text data dictionary, and PDF codebook. The files will be prepared for SodaPop in the near future.
