DHS 2004 Bangladesh Male Recode Alert

The DHS Male Recode files for the Bangladesh 2004 DHS+ survey have been updated. Question QM315 is now recoded as a country specific variable SM315. The new files have been added to the PRI DHS PopNet UNIX collection.

AHS 2003 National File Updated

The AHS 2003 National data file has been re-released by the Census Bureau/HUD (incorrect weights used for file - preliminary rather than final). The data file is the only file affected, documentation is unchanged. The new data file is available as a SAS transport file on PopNet UNIX and has been added to the PRI AHS SodaPop Collection, replacing the previous version containing the incorrect weights.

CPS ASEC 2005 Updated

The 2005 Current Population Survey (CPS) ASEC was re-released by the Census Bureau as version 3. This version of the data has data for noncash benefits values and after tax values included. The PDF technical documentation has also been revised since the last re-release (12/2005). The new files have been downloaded and added to the PRI CPS PopNet UNIX collection and will be added to SodaPop as soon as it is possible.

NIS SodaPop Collection Updated

The National Immunization Survey (NIS) SodaPop Collection has been updated with data and documentation for 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2004 (2002 available previously). All of the NIS data on SodaPop is also accessible in its raw format on PopNet UNIX.

Images of Aging in America 2004, a new research report from AARP, measures peoples’ attitudes and understanding of aging. The study found that, despite demographic shifts, knowledge about aging has changed little since a similar survey was conducted in 1994.

Census Bureau income and poverty estimates
