Childhood cancer survivors often suicidal

A study published in the August 20 issue of Journal of Clinical Ontology (PubMed abstract) found that many survivors of childhood cancer have attempted or contemplated suicide (USA Today, August 28, 2006).

New NLSY Data on CD-ROM

The PRI Data Archive has recently acquired the following NLSY data:

NLSY79 Main File and Work History Data: Revised 1

NLSY79 Child and Young Adult 1979-2004: Release 12.1

NLSY97 Main File Data Rounds 1-8: July 2006 Release

At present these CDs are only available on CD-ROM for check-out by registered users. All of the above will be added to the PRI NLSY SodaPop Collection in the near future. Users not wanting to access the data via CD-ROM may also elect to download the data from the Center for Human Resource Research (primary distributor).

Changes in Staff Distribution and Salaries in Postsecondary Institutions

Qualifications of Public Secondary School History Teachers

A report using data from the NCES 1999-2000 SASS teacher and school questionnaires indicate that students in the lowest poverty schools were the least likely to have a teacher with both an out-of-field certification and an out-of-field major or minor.
