Good news for research funding and SIPP in proposed bill

Posted January 31st, 2007 by Tara Murray in Funding News, SIPP

According to the Chronicle of Higher Education, a spending proposal in Congress includes an increase for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), reversing recent declines in research funding. The proposal would eliminate earmarks for the Department of Agriculture’s Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES), but would keep that money within the agency. The proposal also includes funding for the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP), which was eliminated in President Bush’s budget plan for 2007.
