Adoptive parents invest in children as much as biological parents
Posted February 13th, 2007 by Tara Murray in ECLS-K, FamiliesAdoptive parents invest as much time and resources in raising their children as do biological parents, and do better than single-parent or stepparent families, according to a new study published in the American Sociological Review (AP via Centre Daily Times). The findings are based on analyses of data from the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study,Kindergarten-First Grade Waves (ECLS-K) and the researchers controlled for the socioeconomic differences between adoptive and other types of families.
