The PRI Library has received job announcements from:

• Cornell University for an open rank faculty position in sociology and demography;
•  the United Nations Population Division for the Chief of the Demographic Analysis Branch; and
• Florida State University for an open rank faculty position in sociology with an emphasis on aging/gerontology.

Change in Percentage of Families Offered Coverage at Work, 1998-2005, a new issue brief from the Kaiser Family Foundation, uses National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) data to assess changes in the percentage of families with at least one offer of employer-sponsored coverage.

Americans used to be the tallest people in the world, but have been falling behind other nations since World War II. The Associated Press talked to scholars in demography and economics about the possible causes and implications of this trend (AP via Centre Daily Times).
