NCHS has completed a linkage of several of its population based surveys with administrative data collected from the SSA and the CMS, which is available for research use through the NCHS Research Data Center (RDC). The 1994-1998 NHIS, the LSOA II, and the NHANES I and III have been linked to data on the receipt of retirement, survivors and disability insurance (RSDI) benefits and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits from SSA as well as Medicare enrollment and utilization data from CMS.

Due to confidentiality requirements, access to these files is available only through the NCHS Research Data Center (RDC) which requires an application process and related fees. Updated to remove incorrect statements regarding polyaromatic hydrocarbon analytes and variable detection limits. In fact, for all polyaromatic hydrocarbon analytes in this data set, the detection limit was constant.
