The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has announced that it is modifying its new investigator policy to identify early stage investigators (within 10 years of receiving a terminal degree or completing medical residency).

NIH Public Access Policy reminders

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has issued a reminder about the Public Access Policy, how investigators should demonstrate compliance, and how the NIH will monitor compliance.

Penn State University Libraries is offering training on the Public Access mandate this Thurs., Oct. 9.

The Population Research Institute also offers a guide to the policy for researchers.

NIH director to step down

The Chronicle of Higher Education reports that National Institutes of Health (NIH) director Elias Zerhouni will step down in October. Zerhouni has been in his position for 6 years, the typical tenure of an NIH director, according to the Chronicle.
