New NCES Report

The National Center for Education Statistics has released a new report titled “Comparative Indicators of Education in the United States and Other G-8 Countries: 2006″ This report describes how the education system in the United States compares with education systems in the other G-8 countries–Canada, France. Germany. Italy, Japan, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom.

UN Millennium Development Goals Report 2007

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) has released new data and tables information about the types of courses that high school graduates have taken, credits earned, grade point averages, and the relationship between coursetaking patterns and NAEP achievement. First-born IQs higher

A Norwegian study found that first-born children had higher IQs, and attributed the gap to parental treatment rather than genetics (Baltimore Sun).

The research was published in the June issue of Science.

The 2007 report summarizes important developments and trends in education using the latest available data.
