Cohabitation is part of pathway to marriage, researchers say

Cohabitation is not replacing marriage but is increasingly a first step toward marriage for young adults, say a group of sociologists from Bowling Green State University. The researchers say it is important to study adolescents’ expectations for cohabitation as well as marriage. (Chronicle of Higher Education)

Pew survey on marriage

First-born IQs higher

A Norwegian study found that first-born children had higher IQs, and attributed the gap to parental treatment rather than genetics (Baltimore Sun).

The research was published in the June issue of Science.
