For a brief period, anyone who searched POPLINE using the search term “abortion” would get 0 results. Inquiries by concerned librarians revealed that POPLINE administrators at Johns Hopkins had made “abortion” a stop word after USAID, the reproductive health database’s funder, expressed concern about a few articles in the database. “Abortion” was quickly restored as a search term after numerous complaints.

The National Institute on Aging has issued a Request for Information Related to Planned Funding Opportunities for Cognitive Aging Research. Comments are due by April 30.

The PRI library has received announcement of a post-graduate fellowship with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington.

The PRI Library has received announcement of ELS-NELS training set for June 16-18 and July 21-23 in Washington, DC.

Starting April 7, the new NIH Public Access Policy requires all final peer-reviewed manuscripts arising from NIH funds to be submitted to PubMed Central upon acceptance for publication.

The NIH is soliciting comments on the implementation of the policy. See the Request for Information to submit a comment or read those already submitted. Comments will be accepted until May 31.
